ABUJA — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to arrive in Nigeria today, Monday, April 21, following an extended overseas trip that included official engagements in Paris and a brief stay in London.
The confirmation came via a statement posted by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who wrote on social media: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will return home today.”
President Tinubu departed Nigeria on Wednesday, April 2, for Paris, France, where he was reported to have conducted a mid-term review of his administration and evaluated ongoing national priorities. The trip was framed as a working visit to assess the progress of his economic and governance agenda.
On April 17, a follow-up statement from the presidency revealed that the President had moved to London and was in continued communication with top government officials. According to the statement, Tinubu remained engaged with domestic affairs, issuing directives to security chiefs to address growing security concerns in parts of the country.
The presidency assured Nigerians that the President’s physical absence had not disrupted governance. “The president left Paris for London at the weekend and has maintained constant communication with key government officials,” the statement said.
His return comes amid mounting expectations over policy implementation and growing public attention on his administration’s next steps, particularly in addressing economic challenges and national security issues.
Tinubu’s trip abroad spanned nearly two weeks and coincided with the Easter holiday period.
