The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revised the commencement date for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), moving it a day earlier from Friday, April 25, to Thursday, April 24, 2025.
This adjustment was confirmed in an official statement issued by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, and shared on the Board’s verified X (formerly Twitter) handle on Saturday.
According to the statement, the date change was necessary to align with “essential commitments” involving the Board and its collaborating agencies. No changes were made to the overall examination schedule or the locations selected by candidates.
UTME Slip Printing Begins April 19
In a critical update for registered candidates, JAMB has also announced the release of Examination Notification Slips, which contain each candidate’s:
- Examination date
- Venue (centre)
- Time
- Candidate instructions
Candidates are advised to begin printing their notification slips from Saturday, April 19, 2025, via the official portal at www.jamb.gov.ng. To access their slips, candidates must:

Preparation Guidelines for Candidates
The Board strongly encourages all candidates to visit their assigned centres at least a day or two before their examination date to familiarise themselves with the location and avoid last-minute delays. JAMB has reiterated that no candidate will be posted outside their chosen examination town.
“This early printing window will allow candidates sufficient time to make necessary logistical arrangements to access their designated centres,” the statement noted.
Candidates are urged to take this preparation phase seriously to ensure a smooth and stress-free exam experience.
